A plush, fruit-driven Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon bursting with black cherry, cassis, and warm plum compote. Hints of mocha, graphite, and cedar weave through supple tannins, while a core of ripe fruit glides across the palate with graceful power. Full-bodied yet polished, this valley-floor Cabernet offers the hallmark depth and richness of Napa with a lingering finish of dark chocolate and espresso. Approachable now, it will reward with added nuance over the next decade.

Acme Wine Co. is a small-production winery driven by equal parts curiosity and caffeine. What started as a passion project quickly spiraled into a slightly obsessive pursuit of quality wines that overdeliver on flavor, charm, and drinkability.

Our vineyards span select corners of California’s premium regions, including Rutherford, Sonoma Valley, and the Central Coast — each site chosen for its ability to produce fruit that speaks with an accent. From Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, every grape gets the star treatment before finding its way into a bottle that’s meant to be opened, not admired from afar.

We make wines with personality — expressive, unapologetic, and occasionally a little unruly. Because at Acme Wine Co., we believe wine should start conversations, not end them.

94 POINTS – Palate Press, Oct 25, 2025

The 2023 Acme Wine Co. Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley’s Valley Floor vineyards is a textbook example of why this region remains the heart and soul of California Cabernet. Deep garnet in color, it opens with expressive aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum, cocoa nibs, and warm graphite, followed by subtle hints of espresso bean and toasted cedar. With air, notes of violet and baking spice emerge, adding both dimension and elegance.

The palate is plush yet structured, revealing layers of dark cherry, cassis, and blackberry coulis framed by fine-grained tannins that glide seamlessly across the tongue. Mid-palate richness is balanced by lively acidity, giving lift and definition to the dense core of fruit. Hints of vanilla pod, sage, and crushed rock add complexity, while the finish is long, graceful, and persistent  echoing dark fruit and a whisper of cocoa powder.

Sourced entirely from valley-floor parcels known for their loamy alluvial soils, this Cabernet captures the generosity and polish of Napa’s lower elevations while maintaining poise and freshness. It’s a wine that speaks fluently of its origins: approachable in youth but with the structure to age beautifully over the next 10–12 years.

Tasting Window: 2025 – 2037
Pairing Suggestion: Grilled ribeye, rosemary-rubbed lamb chops, or aged gouda by candlelight and questionable company.

Critic’s Note: Silky, layered, and dangerously drinkable, a classic Napa Cabernet that over-delivers in every possible way.
